On December 5, 2014, the Heber C. Kimball Family Association mentioned Dennis B. Horne’s “The Life of Orson F. Whitney: Historian, Poet, Apostle” on its Facebook page. The post identified the book as the first on Whitney and added, “Horne handles a surprisingly complicated life respectfully but frankly.”
The Ogden Standard-Examiner reviewed the book in July, calling it “an affectionate account of a man who deeply loved his religion and the men who led it.”
Horne also addressed a group at Benchmark Books in Salt Lake City in July, giving an insider’s look at the book and the research that went into it. Here’s the video of the presentation.
“The Life of Orson F. Whitney: Historian, Poet, Apostle” is available in bookstores and from online retailers.
