Three Cedar Fort titles up for 2012 Whitney Awards

The 2012 Whitney Award finalists were recently announced and three Cedar Fort titles have made the cut: Matt Peterson’s “The Epic Tales of a Misfit Hero” (Middle Grade category), Carla Kelly’s “My Loving Vigil Keeping” (Historical category) and Heather Frost’s “Demons” (Youth-Adult Speculative category).

In total, 40 finalists amongst eight categories are up for an award.

Beginning this year, all finalists in theMystery, Historical, General, Romance and Speculative categories are eligible for the Best Novel of the Year award. In addition, all finalists in theMiddle Grade, YA General and YA Speculative categories are eligible for theBest Novel in Youth Fiction award.

First-time author Peterson is also among the field of nine finalists for theBest Novel by New Author award.

Whitney Academy members have until April 29 to read the books and cast their ballot. Winners will be revealed at a gala event at the Provo Marriott on May 11.
